I am my grandmother after all . . .

Sometimes I remind myself of my dear Grandmother Jennie, my dad's mom. She was precious, all 4 ft. 9 in. of her. Her husband, my wonderful Granddaddy Andy, rebuilt her kitchen so it could be at her level. Being in her kitchen was like being in a kind of doll house. (Oh, I just realized . . . Sam rebuilt my kitchen --- 'course it's at regular level. BUT STILL.)
Anyway, Grandmother Jennie was a very devout Christian (Baptist) lady. I can remember watching TV with her, and hearing her moans and groans at some of the silliness.
So now I AM her.
I just watched a youtube video of Amy Winehouse - who won several Grammies the other night. I was curious about her appeal. So I watched it - and listened. Then I moaned and groaned. And, of course, rolled my eyes. And then I read that Amy Winehouse is bringing REHAB - and its value - to everyone's attention. Didn't Lindsay Lohan do that? And well, LOTS of others? Lots and lots???

And then I read that Dolly Parton is postponing (or canceling- or something) a tour because her breasts are causing her back pain. Hello!! Of course they would someday.

And then I hear of a reality show that uses lie detector tests.

Grandmother Jennie, .... it's not getting any better.

LOL... I moan and groan at those things too! Especially Amy Winehouse being glorified at the Grammys despite her TERRIBLE lifestyle. I almost wrote an entire blog about that one. John and I get so frustrated by the Grammys, Oscars, etc basically glorifying everyone in Hollywood for their immorality.

I guess it runs in the family!

My hometown...

I am thinking of my hometown now. Mission, Texas. And McAllen, Texas. And Mercedes, Texas, where I was born. And Donna, Texas, so near there...
