I talked to a young woman today who hates this week. Valentine's Day and all it stands for just makes her want to climb into a cave and hibernate. She doesn't like the schmaltzy take on love - and she does have a point. It's like Mother's Day, kind of. All those cards about how wonderful mothers are - and you know how you've been as a mother -- certainly not perfect. You don't merit the raves - and usually husbands and wives don't merit all the lovey-dovey stuff of Valentine's Day.
Ah, but the sentiments are nice; they can even be wonderful. And about my love for my hubby. . . it has grown deeper and deeper. Not all syrupy sweet but, as I say, very deep. I am SO glad God brought him into my life. I can't say that enough. And I am so into telling people to wait for God's best. I'm so glad I did. I am so glad I did.
I hope you do . . . or did.
Happy Valentine's Day!
