Robert Allen Zimmerman . . .

is the real name of Bob Dylan. I've been thinking about him (see last post). . . and how he has a cult-like following. Does anybody else think this is weird? I mean, have you seen him, or heard him? What is his appeal? His lack of appeal?

Really, fame, and how some people have it and some don't - well, is very interesting to me. It's kind of a 'tipping point' kind of thing, I think. Someone somewhere declares that so and so is talented and then we all bow down and worship him/her. It's kind of like the emperor with no clothes.

I guess what I'm saying here is that some folks who have been praised and lauded and given the big bucks for their 'talent' have well, in my opinion, very little.
Personally I think Amy Grant would fit in that category. And there's Madonna. And I was always intrigued with off-key Johnny Cash's popularity. And Bob Dylan? Am I missing something?

Maybe I'm just jealous.
