I got twelve votes on my poll!!! Thank you to all who voted!!

I think I'm going to keep 'mmjw' as my blog identity after all. For one thing, it got the most votes. (I even voted for it.) (Again, thanks -and hugs-to all who voted!)

'mmjw' stands for Mama Mia-Jane White (I was Mama Mia to my daughter when she was taking Italian (and then in Italy); and my middle name is Jane and my maiden name is White. I had used that 'handle' because I had wanted some anonymity when I commented on Laura's old Xanga blog-thing (which was the only blog I commented on for a while). [Some of you already knew that but may have forgotten (since you were never quizzed on it).] Anyway, I've just kept it. Somehow it makes me feel not so vulnerable as being Nancy Carmack. (Hmm, wonder what a shrink would say to that? - Well, I can guess.)

Anyway, there you have it.

Oh, here's a cartoon I like . . .

Where in Italy did your daughter study? I studied in Florence... it was such an amazing time in my life. ;)

My stepsister calls my stepdad "Papa" or "Papacita" as a holdover from the days she studied in Paris.

I love those sort of nicknames. ;)
