Doodling . . .

Some time ago I read an article in Christianity Today about a book by Sybil MacBeth called PRAYING IN COLOR: DRAWING A NEW PATH TO GOD. The article, called "Doodling With Devotion", suggests you might write a name of a person you want to pray for on a page, then draw around it, like doodling, and then color it, and draw some more, all the while you're praying for that person. I thought that sounded very interesting, so I started doing it! (Well, my version of it.)

I also began using doodling for help in Scripture memory.

I love it.

I took a few pictures last fall - so as to share on my blog. Finally I'm sharing.

Here they are. (Don't be judgmental. It's just doodling.)(You can click on each picture to make it bigger, if you want to.)

Anyway, I'm finding that doing this is very good for my soul.

I really like this, Nancy! You are the doodle version of calligrapher Timothy Botts. I'll have to give it a try. I know that when I'm drawing it pulls me away from all other distractions, so I can see how this would be a great thing to do while praying or meditating.

This is so amazing... I have tears in my eyes. You are such an inspiration and a beautiful example of a Godly woman. You truly, truly are. Thank you for sharing this part of your life with us! And thank you for praying for of my family members on that list. You have no idea how much that means to me.
