Wedding pictures......

Nadir and Valerie got married Sunday!
Nadir's dad, Mario, brought his family to the States from the Central American country of Belize several years ago... so that his wife, Lourdes, could have some good treatment for her leukemia. She is doing well now, but is recovering from recent major surgery, which has kept her from being the cook at the LoneStar Antique Mall tea room. Mario is the go-to person at LoneStar, doing everything from checking out customers to delivering furniture to them.
Anyway, Mario and Lourdes' youngest son got hitched Sunday... to beautiful Valerie Martinez.

It was a lovely ceremony... at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. The weather was HOT - but the ceremony was not long, thankfully.
The reception was at the tea room at 6:30. Very lovely... and delicious food (Lourdes cooked)!

Here are some pictures in the order in which they were taken...

Will and Bailey waiting for the ceremony to begin...

Here's where the wedding was...a park behind Harvest Church on Hightower in Watauga...
The reception was in the tea room. They had it decorated so beautifully.

Here's the cake... that Lourdes baked and decorated! It was heavenly-tasting. The little piano on the left is the groom's cake, with Nadir's name on it...

Mr. and Mrs. Nadir Cal...

The wedding party (though I think I've missed a bridesmaid and a groomsman on the end of both sides)...

Dancing to Bon Jovi's "Thank You For Loving Me"...

Lourdes and Mario, proud parents of the groom...
I should have taken a picture of the buffet table. Oh my. We had chicken and pork with barbecue sauce, yummy Spanish-style rice, cole slaw, and the best potato salad I've ever eaten (next to my mother's), plus a delicious shrimp salad. There were also chips, and all kinds of beverages.
Mario and Lourdes, and Leana, Daniel, and Jemima outdid themselves - oh, as did Nadir and Valerie!

now THAT is a cake! I love the colour of the bridesmaid dresses... so pretty! The bride looks so young... to have her skin.

What fun pictures! You're looking great, too!
