Moonwalk...

40 years ago today we sat around our television set and watched as Neil Armstrong walked on the moon.

I remember thinking that by the time I'm in my fifties I will probably have been on the moon myself. I pictured life would be like the life of the Jetsons.

You just never know what tomorrow will bring
...or not.

'Course back then I had never heard the word 'blog' and surely never thought that I would someday have my own little computer!

What was it like? Were people really skeptical about whether or not they actually landed on the moon then? Was it exciting? Were people opposed to it?

I just can't even imagine.

Sara, we did NOT EVEN question it. It wasn't until later, with the movie, CAPRICORN ONE, did I even consider it might not have been real. And I just considered that for a nanosecond.
Nobody I knew questioned it. OR were opposed to it.

It was VERY exciting!

Its so incredible what God has enabled us as the human race to do. To be able to travel in space and walk on the moon! Who knows what the next 50 years will bring.

Ha! The Jetson's -- haven't thought of that show in decades. I used to love it -- especially when George Jetson fall on the treadmill and gets sucked under and over under and over. That always cracked me up. Good post!

That is incredible!

I remember in 1991, my neighborhood friend said that in 1993, we would have hover crafts like in Back to the Future and you could buy them anywhere, even Walmart. I thought 1993 was sooooo far away and the entire world would be different by then. In some ways, it is. But we're not nearly as futuristic as I believed it would be. I really thought we'd have hover crafts.
