GRACE...

I just went to Elizabeth's blog and was given a dose of grace. GRACE. mmm. Her post consisted of a normal-day house tour. In it she had pictures of her messy kitchen desk, the bathroom that was not model-home neat... and just, well, other pictures of living around the house.

I was needing that.

I'm having about 20 folks from church over Sunday afternoon - and well, was doing my usual 'will-they-notice-all-the-dog-hair?' type of thinking that accompanies home entertaining. Well, it may not accompany YOUR home entertaining but it always does mine.

So Elizabeth made me go, "AH....." It's okay if I'm not perfect. I mean, if Elizabeth can be okay with not being perfect (She's not?!), then I can, too.

That's my thought for the day.

Oh, and here's Shiloh-pup, the dog-hair provider...
He looks sad, but he jumped up right away with full energy - for his breakfast snack.

I just love that dog.

He's a grace-giver, too.

Nancy...thanks...I love dogs and I can hear my mom saying, "what's wrong with you?" I'm knee deep in puppies and I keep thinking about that commerical where it's pushing some kind of fragrance because "we don't always smell our own home" kind of thing. Seems I always have a mop in my hand. Well, I'm taking a deep breath now...

Reading thispost was like a drink of cold water. I've been cleaning out The Cave today, getting ready to paint the walls. Tough job to sort through all my writing files, go through the books, etc. But, not only did your post give me a sense of peace and grace, but I've had your CD's playing all day and your beautiful piano playing has filled my soul. Every time "In the Garden" cycles through I remember what you wrote about that song on the CD jacket, and I'm blessed by your words. So, a triple thanks today for being my friend and for all the myriad ways you've touched my life and heart through the years.
