As you may (or may not) know, my daughter Laura is in grad school at the University of North Texas, studying Art History. I went up there the other day to give her her jury summons. She'll be exempt, but I do think this was her first summons.
I met her roommates, Laura and Katherine. My Laura's name is Laura Katherine. Interesting, huh? They are very nice young ladies. I am very pleased.
While I was parked in front of her apartments, waiting for her and Ryan to get back from their jog, a man in a big pick-up truck drove by slowly, looking the place over. Oh dear, I thought. Then he said (I had my window open), "Are you a mother?"
"Yes," I said.
He said, "Well, I'm the owner of these apartments. Who is your child?"
I told him.
He said, "Oh, she is a wonderful person. She and her roommates are just great tenants, plus, they get their rent in before anyone else."
Needless to say, I was beaming.
Here she is in her apartment (you can click any picture to enlarge). . .
I thought the chairs were cute, all different and everything (they belong to Laura's roommate, Laura, as does most of the furniture) . . .
This is a corner of Laura's bedroom . . .
This is on the wall in Laura's bathroom . . .
This piece is on the wall going up the stairs . . .
Here's her kitchen . . .
This tall candle holder is so pretty. Laura said she got it in an antique mall on the square in Denton. That sounds like a place I have to check out . . .
It's so nice to have Laura close by.
I can pop in anytime . . . a mother's dream, don't cha know!
