Christmas is so commercial . . .

Christmas is so commercial. It gets ridiculous.

Well, so what?

Let’s get ridiculous.

As Sam said in his welcome at church last Sunday, let your kids ENJOY Christmas. If you can get them toys, get them toys. Let them enjoy Christmas. Let them believe in Santa Claus. Let them have fun. Later they will learn the meaning of Christmas.

If we are a pious religious killjoy (or a Scrooge or a Grinch) do we think they will love Christmas more when they are older?

Well, OF COURSE stress the Christ of Christmas. ... but let’s not let us negate the fun we can have during this party time.

It IS party time.

You can sit and be pious if you want to....

I’m going to party.

And I’m inviting Santa Claus!

Ah, and in closing, here is one of my most favorite quotes.....

"Who can add to Christmas? The perfect motive is that God so loved the world. The perfect gift is that He gave His only Son. The only requirement is to believe in Him. The reward of faith is that you shall have everlasting life." - Corrie ten Boom

Isn't that wonderful?

I love that quote!

And I'm going to let my kids believe in Santa!

My hometown...

I am thinking of my hometown now. Mission, Texas. And McAllen, Texas. And Mercedes, Texas, where I was born. And Donna, Texas, so near there...
