If It's St. Patrick's Day ....

...it must be Kathy's birthday!!!

'
Every year, I mean EVERY year, since junior high I've thought of my dear friend Kathy on this day.
I was really blessed to have some super friends in junior high and high school... and Kathy was one of the BEST and MOST PRECIOUS. Seriously, I can't think of a better anyone than Kathy Fennell Cranfill.

Several years ago my niece Elizabeth called excitedly and almost breathlessly, "Nancy, you'll never believe who one of my really good friends is!!!" (something like that)
"Let me guess.... No, tell me."
"Kevin Cranfill, whose mother is Kathy Fennell Cranfill!"
"What?! Are you serious?!!"
Then Elizabeth proceeds to tell me how she and Kevin were just talking and it came up somehow that Elizabeth's mother grew up in Mission and what-do-you-know so did Kevin's mom. I think then Kevin called his mom and asked, "Did you happen to know a Peggy White in Mission?" ... and then Kathy got all excited... and long story short... we got back together!!!!! We emailed some ... then quit some... now we're on Facebook together!! And we'll see each other this summer at our high school reunion!!! (I'll write more about that later.)

Anyway, Kathy, I hope you have a WONDERFUL DAY!! I read on Facebook just where you're going .... HAVE FUN!!

(And I hope you don't mind that I stole your profile picture. I really like it.)

Different note: It is time to put your green shoes on!

I bought these several years ago - when DSW first opened - and always get comments on them. They're comfy AND they brighten up my closet.

Have a great day, and if you're not wearing green don't come near me.
I have a pretty mean pinch.

I'm still amazed at the whole six degrees of separation theory as it's proved to be true time and time again. Isn't FB fun???

I ADORE those green shoes!!! They're too cute.

I completely forgot about St. Patrick's day! Good thing I'm wearing a green shirt anyway. Phew! That was close

Hi Nancy,

That was so sweet. I remember when this happened. Kathy let me know she had finally connected with you and had forwarded your e-mail to me. But then very shortly thereafter you disappeared again. I think it's wonderful the way God weaves each of us into each other's lives...a sort of kismit...and to know that ya'll are still very much in my life - what a blessing!

I read your blog all the time and enjoy everything you write Nancy!! You should write for a newspaper! Naw, then we wouldn't get to see your blog!! :)
I guess I never noticed you could leave comments until today, so I went back and wrote this.....you HONOR me soooo much by writing what you did! Having you back in my life is such a BLESSING......my heart runneth over!!! You are the SWEETEST person ever!!! And I too, feel this is a small world....small enough that my son could become great friends with the daughter of one of my great friends from jr. high and high school 30 years after we graduated! And in San Antonio no less!!! How awesome is that! Keep up the wonderful blogs, we love them and you! Kathy Cranfill
