We have this wall...

One cross Laura gave me. Another Elizabeth gave us the summer she, John, and baby Caroline stayed with us six weeks (sweet memory). One is from Mexico. Another is from Rome (the top middle, with Jesus hanging on it). Three I got at Canton Trades Day. One I got at Hobby Lobby... and the others I don't remember (probably Hobby Lobby).

It's a nice wall.... but I often think about how those crosses would be modern day electric chairs, or hangman nooses if Jesus lived and died today.
Crosses were not things of beauty back in Jesus' day... as electric chairs aren't today.

They remind me of what Jesus did for us.

Tomorrow is Good Friday.
It really wasn't good, though. It was horrible. Jesus was executed.

But it became good. It became wonderful. It became incredible...
... because three days later Jesus rose from the dead!!

I hope that message is not old-hat to you.

It can get that way with me sometimes, I hate to say.

It's good for me to have that wall.

You were right - this one IS very important. Of course, we need to remember EVERY day that Jesus suffered a horrible and painful death in payment for our sins, and that it was all in fulfillment of His Father's plans. AND THAT HE CONQUERED DEATH AND THE GRAVE, AND AROSE! My favorite "Easter" song -- "I serve a Living Saviour, He's in the world today. I know that He is living, no matter what men say. I feel His touch of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer, and just the time I need Him, He's always near. HE LIVES! HE LIVES! HE'S IN THE WORLD TODAY! He walks with me, and talks with me, along life's narrow way! HE LIVES! HE LIVES! Salvation to impart! You ask me how I know HE LIVES? HE LIVES WITHIN MY HEART!"

The next verse is great, too -- "Rejoice! Rejoice, oh sinner! Live up your voice and SING ETERNAL HALLELUJAS TO JESUS CHRIST OUR KING!" Doesn't that just make you want to stand up and SING AND SHOUT???!!!???

Sorry for all the caps . . . but they just HAD to be there!

BTW - I have a cross collection, too! LOVE THEM!

Nancy, I love the cross wall. I have been thinking about making one at my house. The cross is a wonderful reminder of his love for us. Thanks for sharing.

For today I'm reminiscing about my childhood. I had this fella! (Well, one that looked exactly like him.) I called him "Muncle - li...
