Shiloh is exuberantly happy.
I know, he doesn't look exuberantly happy in that picture.
Well, that picture was taken 2 years ago, after his first haircut. Back then he wasn't sure whether he liked it or not... so he acted cool and collected.
Well, this year he likes the haircut. .... so much so that he's been too exuberantly happy (rowdy) for me to get a good picture. (He's cool but certainly not collected.)
On a different note, HOOK 'EM, HORNS!
I never thought I'd EVER say that - what with being a Baylor grad (SIC 'EM, BEARS) ... and lots of family being Texas Aggies (GIG 'EM, AGGIES).... but TEXAS won my heart Monday by not abandoning the Big 12. If they had, Baylor would have had a whole different sports future.
On another different note, I spent last night with my mom at Parkwood and ate a wonderful breakfast with her there this morning. I told her I felt as if I were at a resort. She said, "Yes, I keep thinking I'll have to go back home and get on with my real life." (Something like that.)
Sign me up!
On a different note, several of my high school friends have had deaths lately. .. Mark's mother-in-law (who lived with them the last four years), Diana's father, ... and Danny - who graduated 3 years before me in high school. He died of a massive heart attack.
Life is fragile.
I never want to take it for granted.
(Sometimes I do, though.)
We must remember that none of us gets out alive.
One of these days I'm just going to write about why and how I feel that when you know how to die you know how to live .... and that Jesus Christ is THE WAY.
I hope I don't get too preachy, though.
I hate when folks get too preachy.
[Jesus never got that way - - except to preachy-folks.]
