Tuesday Tuneup

Sometimes I need a tuneup.
...Like when I take my car in for a tuneup I stop the engine...give the keys to the mechanic, and go in to the little waiting area and .... wait.   Relax.

Sometimes I need to do that.

And I need to remember....
"Every now and then go away, have a little relaxation, for when you come back to your work your judgment will be surer." - Leonardo Da Vinci

“Solitude is the soul’s holiday, an opportunity to stop doing for others and to surprise and delight ourselves instead.” —  Katrina Kenison

And seek God:
"There is a restlessness that will not find its rest until it finds its rest in God." St. Augustine

And I need to remember this quote: “Not every request requires a ‘yes’.”

[Just writing that feels good.]

Oh, and here’s what I read in E. Stanley Jones’ CHRISTIAN MATURITY yesterday: (I thought it was GREAT.)
To see whether our love is mature love, put “I” in the place of “love” in a portion of Paul’s description of love in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7:  4 I am patient, I am kind. I do not envy, I do not boast, I am not proud. 5 I do not dishonor others, am not self-seeking, am not easily angered, I keep no record of wrongs. 6 I do not delight in evil but rejoice with the truth. 7 I always protect, always trust, always hope, always persevere.

Have a great day.

I love this post, we all need this gentle reminder to relax and take care of ourselves. 1 Corinthians 3 is one of my favorite. Thank you Nancy...you are such an inspiration!!

This song says it best for me. What a beautiful, comforting thought. Our Lord is always there.....we just have to be still and let Him come in.

When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.

What great comments. Thank you!

And no, Laura, I didn't really mean to do that with the colors. I guess I'm artsy in spite of myself!

My hometown...

I am thinking of my hometown now. Mission, Texas. And McAllen, Texas. And Mercedes, Texas, where I was born. And Donna, Texas, so near there...
