Thoughts on Thursday (and other stuff)...

I know that soon it will be Friday, but since it's still Thursday and the word 'thoughts' start with 'th'... well, that's my THeme.

Here's a good thought....
"Jesus didn’t hover over life from up high. He came down to gritty, sandy, soil earth to walk with us, among us, within us. And he offers himself as our water – the living kind – not to douse on our emergencies but to satisfy our souls in quietness and in strength."
- Emily P. Freeman

And here's another good thought:
“When we become aware that we do not have to escape our pains, but that we can mobilize them into a common search for life, those very pains are transformed from expressions of despair into signs of hope.”
- Henri Nouwen

I came across both of those quotes recently and LOVED them.
On a different note, tonight I went to a meeting about giving to a church (our church) because the church needs more space (a new building). It was a GREAT meeting.
Here's a picture of the hostess of the meeting, Julie, and her sweet pug... who's called 'Pug'...
Pug is a rescue dog. And Julie, who rescued him, is our pastor's personal assistant, as well as basically a caretaker for the whole church.
She is beautiful inside and out.

Here's our pastor, Doug, leading the meeting...
... he did a great job.
Talking about money and church can be tricky, for sure.
(I didn't feel weird at this meeting, so Doug did a great job!)

On a different note, my mother and I went down to Fairfield, TX yesterday to see one of my very best childhood friends, Dottie....
Sadly she is being ravaged by Alzheimer's.
Please, please, please pray for her.... however you want.

I'm praying that God will take care of her... and give her peace.
She is so sweet, so very sweet, even in the midst of Alzheimer's.

Thank you for praying.

I can't get over how young your mother looks every time you post a picture. You girls have great genes.

Is that Dottie Morris, Nancy? She still looks the same! I will pray for her.

Yes, Bobbie, that is Dottie Morris - and yes, she looks the same!!!!!
(Sadly though, she is so not the same.)

Thanks for praying for her, Bobbie.

My hometown...

I am thinking of my hometown now. Mission, Texas. And McAllen, Texas. And Mercedes, Texas, where I was born. And Donna, Texas, so near there...
