Big deal...

Yes, it is a HUGE DEAL... that my children are BOTH GRADUATING FROM COLLEGE THIS WEEKEND!!!

Today Laura gets her Master's degree from UNT in art education!!!
Tomorrow Will gets his Bachelor's degree (MAGNA CUM LAUDE!!!) from UTA in anthropology.
(Laura graduated Summa Cum Laude from Baylor in '09!)

Yes, proud mother keeps on bragging!!!

Now about some AMAZING nativity scenes...

In July of 2001, my mother and I took a trip of a lifetime. We went to Russia! It was there I bought this nativity scene...
Needless to say, it was exciting to buy it in Moscow!!!!

In August of 1983, Sam and I came home from being missionaries in Brazil. We brought many things back. One of my favorites is this...
It stands about 14 inches high... and right now it's sitting in the kitchen facing the breakfast nook... where all can see it.

I will share more nativity scenes later.

In closing, here's a quote I like...
The spirit of Christmas needs to superseded by the Spirit of Christ. The spirit of Christmas is annual; the Spirit of Christ is eternal. The spirit of Christmas is sentimental; the Spirit of Christ is supernatural. The spirit of Christmas is a human product; the Spirit of Christ is a divine person. That makes all the difference in the world.

Oh, there's a new poll up!

So far, these two nativity scenes are my favorite. I adore the one from Russia - partly because of the story behind your acquiring it. And I love the rich wood on the Brazilian nativity - and the doors - I love things with doors and drawers. Your collection is like a world tour!

Actually, I'm pretty sure I graduated magna cum laude as well. I was like one tenth of a point away from summa. so frustrating!
