Nothing doing...

Some of you are going to be jealous:  I've had some 'nothing time' lately.

Yes.
I scheduled it.
And I've had it.
(Hopefully someday you will get to have some, too.)

Seriously.
We all need it from time to time.

I've tested as an introvert on the Myers-Briggs personality test.
That 'introvert' label on their test means that when you (I) get tired you (I) need
to withdraw from folks.

Some people when they get tired need to seek folks out - and maybe go to or have a party
- to get recharged.

Not I.

I'm so like my dad.
He could be the life of the party, but he didn't want the party to last too long.

So I've had some nothing time, and I'm feeling rejuvenated.

REAL SIMPLE has an article called 10 Ways to Enjoy Doing Nothing. It's good.

Oh, and I found a Do Nothing website - where you do nothing for 2 minutes.
Go to Do Nothing for 2 Minutes.  If you hit the keyboard it goes back to 2 minutes with the word 'FAIL'.  (So it shames you if you touch the keyboard - ha.)
Well, 2 minutes can be a long time for someone like me - who likes to get things done in a hurry.
But I did sit through it.
:)

Also Psalm 62:1-2 is wonderful...
Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him.
Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.

As is Matthew 11:28-29...
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

And of course Psalm 46:10...
Be still, and know that I am God.
Some translations say 'Cease striving and know that I am God.'
I think that's great, too.

Well, all the verses about God loving us are wonderful in that regard.
When a person knows deep down that he/she is loved...
well, that knowledge brings a calmness and security to the soul.

Mmm.

Just what I needed today Nancy! Sometimes I'm so frustrated that I am an introvert, but then I remember you are. And you're pretty cool! Maybe God made me that way for a reason, huh?

Carisa, thanks for that great comment. It made me feel super good.

And Laura, I'm glad you're getting to do nothing lately. You deserve it.
