... is (almost) here.
Wow.
I can remember anticipating 1970 with fear and trembling.
And then I'd think about the year 2000,
when I would be two years away from being 50.
when I would be two years away from being 50.
I could barely imagine that.
I think I thought I'd be like someone else.
And I can remember thinking about the age the Beatles sang about - 64 -
and the word 'elderly' would come to mind.
I'm posting a men's choir singing it ... it's fun (for us old geezers).
And this time next week that is what, when, where I'll be: 64!!!
Ready or not.
Ready or not.
And I am liking that!
Who knew I would!?
Well, of course, parts of me do NOT like that... but parts of me so do.
As the old hair color ad used to say,
"You're not getting older. You're getting better."
"You're not getting older. You're getting better."
And I think I am.
I could elaborate on that but I'll just close with some 'posters' I like
that I've seen on Facebook these last few days.
And...

That's pretty good, huh? |
Both of the above 'posters' come from Ginny Murphy.
Thanks, Ginny!
And there's this...
Proverbs 3:5-6
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heartand lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
That is the main one...
and my resolution this year is to memorize more Bible verses.
I have found that when I'm working on Bible verses...
or laughing...
or praying for folks around me
I don't have the time or energy to worry.
And I am free... to be me, who God made me to be.
At my age that is SUPER.
(Well, at any age.)
