I have so much to blog about... like last week in OKCITY with the Carmacks, and then Nell and her parents at Chuck E. Cheese, and well, my own fun-ness around Colleyville, but for now I will live in the moment.

In the moment I'm in Portland, Oregon.  Whoa.  Really.
I love that picture that I (myself!) took Saturday when we were driving to Laura and Ryan's house.
Briefly here is more of Laura and Ryan's world in Portland...
Getting ready for a walk.
And by 'walk' I mean WALK AND WALK AND WALK...
We got some good exercise!
Well, I'm wanting to tell you everything - but we have another full day of exploring L&R's world, and I must get ready for it.

In short, though, we are really liking Portland!
And we are taking credit for bringing the beautiful sun-shiney weather!

We've had lots of good visiting time, which is a plus to their living far away from us. (We get to sit and talk at all meals - and while on walks, and late night right before we head to our beds to sleep.)

We're here for 3 nights and 2 full days.  It may seem a short visit, since Portland is so far away from Texas... but we don't want to be like fish - and start smelling after 3 days!

In closing,  here are two of our hosts, as they ride in the back of the car, ready to go to a fun and beautiful dog park...
That's Akon and Olive, our dear granddogs.

 I have more later.
Well, lots more, but I don't want to bore you with my vacation 'slide show'.

In closing, here are three kind of random quotes about family...

"The family is a haven in a heartless world."
~Christopher Lasch

"Family: A social unit where the father is concerned with parking space,
the children with outer space, and the mother with closet space."
~Evan Esar

You don’t choose your family.
They are God’s gift to you, as you are to them.
~Desmond Tutu

Stay tuned for more of Portlandia,
and an awesome church service in downtown Portland!

Lordy Lordy, Look Who's Forty!!!
