Are you kidding me?!

Here are some things I think are funny.

Q: "Where do you see yourself in five years?"
A: "I don't know, I don't have 2020 vision.”

Q: Why do bakers start working so early in the morning?
A: Because they knead dough.

Q: Do you know why a bicycle can't stand alone?
A: It's two tired.

I have a fear of speedbumps...
But I'm slowly getting over it.

Here are some bumper stickers....

The solar panel says, "So what do you think about this whole renewable energy thing?"
The turbine replies, "I'm a big fan.”

Why did Peter Parker get fired?
He spent all day on the web.

RIP boiling water.
You will be mist.

Here's an article for you...

(I guess we can say 'Heaveno'.)

Why don't you ever see the headline "Psychic Wins Lottery"?

I used to be a taxi driver but I had to quit...
I couldn't stand people talking behind my back.

That's it.
I hope you at least smiled.

Some marvelously wonderful people ... starting with Daddy-Bob ...

I have some pictures to show you. And the first one is VERY special...

This past week we got this photograph from days gone by....  as in maybe 1929....
That's my father-in-law, Robert S. Carmack,
when he was sixteen, and evidently in Texas!
(He was an Okie.)

We got the picture from Zena.... the granddaughter of Bob's childhood friend, Floyd ...
Here is Zena with me, on Wednesday....
Zena came to a meeting Wednesday.
She said she was going through some boxes and found that picture of Daddy Bob.
We were thrilled!

That picture of Daddy Bob
was shared with the group Wednesday...
And we shared memories of him as a very special man, full of integrity.
and a wonderful example to us all.

If you look back at that picture of Zena and me you can see I'm wearing a Legacy Bank shirt.
(Our Legacy Bank in Oklahoma is not to be confused with Legacy Texas Bank.)

Here I'm wearing another Legacy shirt (the day before)...
Minnalee, was wearing a similar shirt, so I had to get a picture, of course.
By the way, Minnalee was Daddy Bob's 'sargeant' (that's how Sam put it).
She was in charge of operations - for years at Legacy.
Now she's on the board of directors,
so we get to visit every month,
and wear our Legacy shirts.

Here I am with Sam with his Legacy shirt...
For a while we had shirts that had the logo put on the shirts as the same color as the shirt.
Well, that didn't last long.
(You can see how my shirt broadcasts Legacy better!)
(My sister-in-law Pat made that green necklace years ago...
I still love it, Pat!)

On a different note, our granddaughter got to ride a pony today!!
At Bear Valley church they had a Spring Fling today...
and that's where she rode the pony.
When it was time to get off, she did NOT want to dismount!

(If my Daddy were alive he would be ordering a pony right about now.)

On a different note, our daughter and her sister-in-law got to spend some time together recently.
That's Laura and Victoria...
Aren't they two beautiful young ladies??
(I love that picture. ... and them.)

Well, I could show you more,
but it's Sunday afternoon,
and well, a nap is calling.
(Sometimes I answer, sometimes I don't.)

Wednesday Whimsy ...

Here's some more whimsy from LoneStar Antiques (5605 Denton Highway, Haltom City, TX)...

What am I REALLY good at?

But I'm getting worse at it!

I used to could think about stuff till my brain was absolutely totally exhausted.
And that was not a good thing.

(Is that bad grammar in that sentence-before-last? Well, I won't overthink it)

In today's devotional in JESUS CALLING, Sarah Young says,
"Rather than planning and evaluating, practice trusting and thanking Me continually.
This is the paradigm shift that will revolutionize your life."

Trusting and thanking God continually
is the way to live a wonderfully peaceful life!
(Sometimes I just have to be reminded of that...
like today's reading thankfully did.)

When I did a Google search on 'over-thinking' I found these 'posters' and cartoons...

That statement used to fit me so well.

And here's this song that I love...
It always helps me quit over-thinking.

Robin was Rockin' !!!!

Robin is Bailey's mom!!!  (Bailey is my daughter-in-law - so we're all related, I'm proud to say.)
Tuesday night (St. Patrick's Day (night)), Robin and her band, Steppin' Out,
were making everybody happy, and tapping their feet at Central Market in Southlake!

Here was (were) some of the crowd...

You can see Nell's cousin, Luca, getting a nap in, during the show.

Here's Luca's little sister, with their dad, A.J....

And here's A.J. with his wife, Jessica (Bailey's sister), and their children in the background....
That's a beautiful family, isn't it?

Here's the star of the show, Robin, with two of her daughters, and her youngest granddaughter...
I know what you're thinking: Robin looks too young to be a grandmother!!!

Bailey's oldest sister, Shea, and her family got there later
since Camryn (the oldest of Robin's grandchildren)
had Tae Kwon Do lessons.
(Uh, Camryn needs to try some Tae Kwon Do out on her Uncle Will.
He used be pretty proficient, as I recall!)

In closing, here's a promotional demo of Robin and her band....

This Friday night (as in TOMORROW NIGHT!!) March 20th,
they're performing at Pops Safari in Fort Worth from 8-12 midnight!!!

You will be wowed!!!!

Are You Going to Scarborough Fair?

The Scarborough Renaissance Festival in Waxahachie, Texas doesn't start until the end of April... but plan ahead!
I'm planning!  (I've heard it is WONDERFUL!)

Why am I even thinking about it?
Because look who I ran into at Kroger's Monday evening??
Of course we had to get a selfie!!
(Should that be plural, with 2 people?)!

That's me with beloved Sophie!!
We hadn't seen each other in a long time!
I was walking along near the frozen food section and I saw the back of a person with long hair, and it made me think of Sophie.  Then I heard the lady singing softly to the music on the intercom.  It was the song "IF" (you know, the beautiful old song by BREAD, "If a picture paints a thousand words... etc.")   Well, I looked around at the front of said lady... and she WAS Sophie!!!

Many of my blog readers know her.  For those of you who don't, she and I (and many others) were on the music team at Bear Valley Community Church for years and years....
and were a 'family'.
Well, once a family, always a family.

We got to talking... and she told me how she and her husband David are a part of the Scarborough Renaissance Festival every spring in Waxahachie, TX.
And she showed me pictures!

Well, the first one of them was made professionally.  It is amazing...
It turns out they're both Scottish!
One from the Hunt clan, and one from the Hunter clan (something like that).

Here's Sophie in the parade that marches each Saturday at noon...

And here's her husband David...

Will and Bailey love to go to the festival every spring.
And Sophie got a picture of Will and Nell last spring!

So if and when they go this spring I want to tag along!

Some attendees even dress in Renaissance clothes.
I'll have to see what is in my closet.

Here's Simon and Garfunkel singing "Scarborough Fair".  It's beautiful.  ('Course you may have to watch a short commercial first.)

Wow. I really liked that.

In other news, last night Sam and I went to see Bailey's mom perform at Central Market in Southlake.
I should have invited Elizabeth and her family... but I thought it might be rained out...
but it wasn't - well, at least it wasn't when we were there.
Ah, but they had Robin's band on the porch in case it did rain.
I'll show you pictures of that event soon!  Stay tuned.
