Let's smile a while!

There is awfulness in this world, that's for sure.

But there is also fun ... and fun people.

Here are a few...

That's 4 1/2 year old Anna.
I wanted to take that picture because I think she looks like the girl on her shirt.
(And her Nana gave her that pinwheel she's holding.)

Here is Anna with her Nana...
They're showing you that they have on the same color nail polish.
(Anna saw Nana's polish and had to have some!)
Here's Anna with her mommy...
Nana had finger puppets to play with...
which are always fun.
At a different day and time, I ran into an old friend at the antique mall!!
Some of you blog readers will know this friend!
It's Nancy Turner, from Hinton, Oklahoma!
She was actually eating in the tea room with a high school friend
(who has a booth in the mall),
and well, when I saw them come in I thought,
"That looks like Nancy Turner."
(I almost didn't put this picture on my blog...
I was on my way to get a haircut...
and always snazzy-looking-Nancy
made me want to go and get not only a haircut,
but a complete makeover.
(Her style ALWAYS inspires me.)

And at a different day and time,
I had lunch with my former hairstylist and friend, Marti Garcia!
Here I am with her in the tea room,
when another client of hers (Linda) saw her and needed a Marti-hug!
Marti has moved to Colorado to study at a Bible college.
She was telling me how she'll be 60 next year,
and yet her life is just beginning.
Now that's exciting.

(By the way, Marti is the one who helped me go from always-colored hair to GRAY!!)

So those are a few smiles.

And here are a few different ones (hopefully they'll be smiles for you)...

The trumpet player had been blasting away all day, when there was a knock on his door.
“I live next door to you,” he explained. “Do you know I work nights?”
“No,” said the trumpet player, “but if you hum a few bars, I’ll get the melody.”

An old man decides to go into town one day to run some errands.
On the way back, his wife calls his cell phone.
"Look out honey,
I just saw on the news that there's a car driving the wrong way on the interstate."
"Not just one car, they all are!”

Have a good weekend!

Can't believe Anna is 4.5!!!!! Love the nail polish picture - that is too sweet!! I can't believe how many people you run into in the tea room!!

My hometown...

I am thinking of my hometown now. Mission, Texas. And McAllen, Texas. And Mercedes, Texas, where I was born. And Donna, Texas, so near there...
