In My Humble Opinion...

I watched the Democratic debate and was reminded how people who appear poised and confident are often trusted... whether they deserve trust or not.

Yes, Hillary did well. She knows how to appear in a debate.

Different note...
I understand why people would want strict gun control laws. I really do.
BUT...  the old saying, "If we outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns," seems to be an obvious statement.

On an even more different note: I just read that Madonna is using a large cross as her strip pole in her new concert tour.
Outrage is her modus operandi.
(Often I like to use visual aids on this blog, but I just can't bring myself to put even an old picture of her here.)

Oh, and Miley Cyrus. She's supposed to perform completely nude in her upcoming concert tour.

(I need to quit reading entertainment news.)

Different note (and back to politics): I happened to hear Sean Hannity talk about John Boehner and how he (Hannity) hates the fact that Boehner cries easily.  Well, that made me think less of Hannity than I did before.

I don't mind seeing a man cry.
I will close with a quote from someone I love...
“The great mistake of liberalism is the belief that we can solve every problem by fixing ‘the system’.  This overlooks the broken nature of mankind in our society.  Fixing the system will never solve the problem. We’ve got to pray for revival. - that the hearts of people will be mended.”
- Sam Carmack

That's it for now.

If you haven't voted on my poll (upper right), I hope you do, if you can.

My dad teaches at TCC and he says that a lot of teachers have been canceling classes since the Oregon shooting. They just post sign in sheets and track attendance that way. He hasn't decided how he feels about it, so he keeps showing up to teach. I don't know what the write answers are but I feel like the terrorists (people with guns) have won. :-/

Wow, Sara. Thanks for that comment.
Yeah, the terrorists are seeming to win.

It's a scary world out there.

My hometown...

I am thinking of my hometown now. Mission, Texas. And McAllen, Texas. And Mercedes, Texas, where I was born. And Donna, Texas, so near there...
