My Favorite Things ...

Earlier last month, while walking Shiloh, I took this picture of Sam cooking some steaks on the grill by the pool in our apartment complex, which is about a block and a half walk from our apartment.

(One of Sam's favorite things is steak.)
He was reading a book while the steaks were cooking.

Then we got our own grill...
It's on our little porch/balcony.
It sure is handy... which makes it one of my favorite things now.

It meant we could cook some sausages for Christmas breakfast...

That's Ryan (our dear son-in-law) with his dear dad, Jerry, on Christmas morn.
Those sausages turned out super delicious.
(And the fire department didn't have to come to our kitchen.)  :)

By the way, Sam did some research on the best way to make sausage gravy... that Sam likes to put on biscuits, and even on his scrambled eggs.

He found one idea that he may use next time: poultry seasoning is supposed to be a good seasoning for sausage gravy.
Why, the lady on the website teaching about making sausage gravy says she thinks poultry seasoning is one of her favorite cooking staples. She uses it in lots of recipes... whether it's called for or not.
Sounds good to me!
Maybe poultry seasoning will become one of my new favorite things.  Hmm.

Different note, I really like a good cappuccino... and I found this one I could share with Sam....
Isn't that cute?

On a different note, Anthony Bourdain, an American chef and television personality whose culinary travels take him all over the world has discovered WAFFLE HOUSE and loves it !!  You can click HERE for the article on that.
Here he is...

...and here is a WAFFLE HOUSE!
Sam and I are fans!

I'll close on a totally different note...

Here's a favorite quote of mine from the famous British preacher C. H. Spurgeon...
“The way to do a great deal is to keep on doing a little. The way to do nothing at all is to be continually resolving that you will do everything.”
-C. H. Spurgeon

Well, that speaks to me, for sure.

I hope you're having a good start to 2016.

I have a poll up.

Oh yeah.
