Are these the End Times?

When you have your own blog you can do whatever you want.
One day you might put up some trivial trivia.
The next day you might post beauties from an antique mall.
And another day you might want to talk about the end of the world.

WELCOME TO MY BLOG!!

Today's topic...

I'm sorry if I'm sounding flippant.
This IS a major topic... and a major possibility.

Here is a chart I found when looking for images of the End Times...
Hmm. That looks pretty exhaustive.

I don't know about the official 'End Times', or when it is going to happen, but I do know that I'm getting closer to my own end time.
And you are, too.

I have been doing some finishing touches on my book about my twin and her death. Needless to say I think about death a lot, and facing it.  Well, I have thought a lot about those things ever since I realized I was finite... and certainly since Peggy was diagnosed at age 32 in 1984. Prayers for healing were prayed in abundance (which I talk about in the book).

Anyway, End Times is (are) a topic that can be hot among certain folks. Years and years ago at church (First Baptist, Mission,TX) we had a Wednesday night study of the book THE LATE GREAT PLANET EARTH by Hal Lindsey. It was VERY interesting.

But the sure thing is our own personal end time.

And I think the old adage, if you know how to die, you know how to live, is so true.

I am a Bible believer, and I found this recent article in THE CHRISTIAN POST to be very good:
5 Things The Bible Says About Heaven.
It offers comfort and hope, and I'm all about comfort and hope.

In my Peggy book I tell about how a nurse of hers in the hospice setting (who thought she was going to have a long life) died weeks before Peggy did, of an aneurysm.  Peggy had talked to Ernestina a week before Ernestina suddenly died, about God and heaven, and how and why Peggy had hope. They prayed together, and I would like to thank Beth, my 'book-critiquer', who suggested to include the kind of prayer they prayed.

Basically here was the kind of prayer...
Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and I do not deserve eternal life. But, I believe you paid for my sin by dying on the cross and rose from the dead to live in my life. Please make me a new creation. I will follow you the best I can.

Well, there are so many things I could say about that prayer, but I will leave it at that.
(Yes, I could preach, sistah!!)

Here's a verse that says it in a nutshell:
Romans 10:13
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Well, my book doesn't have lots of preaching, but it does have that.

And my part of the book (which is the actual writing of it) is almost done.
Thank goodness... it's only been lots of years since I started it.
I just kept putting off working on it. (I am super good at putting off things.)

That's it for now.

I'll close with one of my favorite pictures of Peggy and me... with our dear dad...
I just can't remember that picture being taken.

See you next time.
