Portland on my mind...

I've been back in Texas for over a week now.

Texas is not Oregon.

Everywhere in Oregon I saw Bernie Sanders signs and bumper stickers. No Hillary, or Trump, or Cruz.  One of the first things I saw back in Texas was a Trump yard sign. And then a Cruz bumper sticker.

Tuesday in the tea room (in TX) I saw a few ladies with their hair teased and hair-sprayed. And they weren't old ladies. I didn't see any in Portland... well, maybe one lady at church.  And I didn't put any 'product' on my hair while in Portland (though I had brought pomade and yes, some hairspray).

Everything is natural there.

Ah, but they all don't eat just veggies and whole wheat bread.

There is nothing more delicious than a Blue Star Donut in Portland, Oregon...

Laura and I each got our own donut.
I selected the glazed buttermilk cake and Laura selected the lemon poppy seed cake donut.
Then we cut them in half and we each got a half of each, so a whole...
of PURE YUM.

Here are 2 more pics I took at Blue Star..

Before we had donuts we went to Artistic Portland...

Some of Laura's art is sold there...

Here are some notecards...

And here is a picture of inside the store...
That's just one view.

If you turn around you'll see lots of jewelry.

I splurged and bought these for myself...
I'll wear them soon.
(I have a weakness for earrings, especially when the price is right.)

The day before I left Portland Laura and I drove to a spot
where we could overlook the Columbia River Gorge...

Here's a picture I took...
Beautiful.

So I'm getting partial to Oregon.

I absolutely love my home state of Texas...
but now Oregon is my first runner up.

----

See you next time.
