I hugged 2 police officers today.

I actually kind of know those police officers, as they come into the LoneStar Antique Mall Simplicities Tea Room frequently.
I had never hugged them until today.

And several customers were coming to their table, thanking them for their service.

I went to Hannah, who was working the register and told her I wanted to pay for the police officers' lunches.  "Too late," she said. "I already have their meal taken care of by some other customers."

It was so touching... just watching those people go to their table to thank them for their service. And the police officers were so gracious in accepting the appreciation.

I didn't get a picture of me hugging them, but I found this picture of people hugging police officers in Dallas all day today...
If I'm not mistaken that officer there is the Dallas Police Chief, David Brown.
He is a very impressive man.
He gave a wonderful news conference this morning.
You may have heard it.

He and the Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings (who is behind the police chief) said all the right things today...

I am praying there will be healing on all levels after this horrific killing of those 5 officers last night
and the wounding of 7 more.

I'll close with the pictures of the 5 killed...
End of watch 7/7/16:  Brent Thompson 43, Patrick Zamarippa 32, Michael Krol 40, Michael Smith 55, Lorne Ahrens 48.

Let's pray for their families, their colleagues, and our nation.
