You can't please everyone.

Not long ago a lady came over to the piano that I play in the antique mall tea room.and requested that I play some old hymns.
I did.

Almost immediately after I finished playing those hymns another lady from another table came over and said something like, "Ma'am, I did not enjoy those last songs you played, which meant I did not enjoy my meal here today at all, just so you know."

"I am so sorry," I said.

Then she said, "You played my grandmother's favorite hymns that were played at her funeral recently. So I sat there trying to eat, but just couldn't. I was so sad."

"Oh my," I said. "That must have been so hard to hear those songs. Next time I will try and not play old hymns back to back."

She said, "Yeah. Whatever." And she left.

That's not much of an example of not pleasing everyone. (I have MANY others.)
But it is one of my very most recent.

Everyone has his/her issues, his/her pain.

I cannot make everyone's 'day'.

Nor can you.

This is all of my blog-post for today, plus these 'posters'.

Proverbs 29:25

Fear of man will prove to be a snare,
but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.

Galatians 1:10

Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

Hope you found comfort in your sayings. Odd she didn't find comfort in her Moms favorite hymns. I would have thought it a message from her. As if she was joining her for lunch.
