Trivia Tuesday

The average person eats enough each Thanksgiving to gain 1.3 pounds.
I thought it would be more than that!

About 46 million turkeys are eaten each year on Thanksgiving in the United States.

Most Americans like Thanksgiving leftovers more than the actual meal. Almost 8 in 10 agree that the second helpings of stuffing, mashed potatoes and pie beat out the big dinner itself, according to a 2015 Harris Poll.

President Roosevelt in 1939 is believed to be the first to pardon a turkey at Thanksgiving and start this annual tradition.

Cranberries were once used for more than just sauce. Native Americans used them to treat wounds and dye arrows.

Black Friday is the busiest day of the year for plumbers.
Thanks to all that food we gobble up, Roto-Rooter reports that kitchen drains, garbage disposals and, yes, toilets, require more attention the day after Thanksgiving than any other day of the year.

Gobble, gobble?: Not so fast. Only male turkeys, called toms, gobble.  Females, called hens, cackle.

The Snoopy Balloon has appeared more than any other balloon in the Macy’s Annual Thanksgiving Parade.

That's all my trivia for today.

My hometown...

I am thinking of my hometown now. Mission, Texas. And McAllen, Texas. And Mercedes, Texas, where I was born. And Donna, Texas, so near there...
