Here I (yes I) am coloring (with colored pencils) a page from her coloring sheets...
Here is the finished product...
You are never too old to display your stuff on the fridge, right?
You can go HERE to download some of Laura's coloring sheets.
Did you know that coloring sheets are the 'rage'?!
I was on a flight to Portland and there was a well dressed middle-aged lady coloring in a coloring book- and she just seemed so relaxed.
By the way, I like to color when I'm watching (listening) to the news. Some folks don't have to be doing something all the time, but, well, I sometimes do. And I tend to enjoy (if you can enjoy) the news, by coloring - or doing my own doodles.
2. In other news, wonderful Billy Graham died early today. He was 99.
I went to one of his 'crusades' in 1971. It was the very first event held at the Texas Stadium in Irving. The stadium wasn't even finished, but finished enough to hold the crusade. I went the first night. Now that stadium is dust, but I will always cherish that memory.
3. I spoke of our fridge displaying my coloring sheet; it also has a wonderful sympathy card on it.
Heritage Veterinary Hospital.
Isn't that wonderful?
We still miss Shiloh-pup, but we're glad he's not suffering anymore.
4. Along that line, we will not be getting another dog.
Why, you ask?
Well, when we moved into this house almost 2 years ago Sam started having the symptoms of a cat allergy, that he had back when we had Laura's cat Ramsey. We figured that the previous owners of this house must have had a cat. Soon after Shiloh passed Sam noticed he didn't have any pet allergies going on, and he remembered that his doctor told him years ago that often when people develop an allergy to their cat, they then later develop an allergy to a dog.
So there's that.
And I'm okay with no puppy dog. Oh yes.
5. On a totally different note, I will close with a quote that has helped me in thinking about the gun control issue, which is being so talked about after that horrible Valentine's Day high school massacre in Florida last week.
I am so about being able to defend ourselves, but oh I hate those big guns that gun down folks.
I find myself understanding both sides.
So here is the quote I like...
“You always own the option of having no opinion.”
― Marcus Aurelius
Here is his whole quote about that...
“You always own the option of having no opinion. There is never any need to get worked up or to trouble your soul about things you can't control. These things are not asking to be judged by you. Leave them alone.” ― Marcus Aurelius
For now I'm going to opt out of trying to figure out how to think.
And oh I ache for those victims and their families.
Some of you might be tempted on Facebook to try to persuade me on either side of the gun control issue.
Leave me alone on that, okay?
That is all today.
Well, that is ENOUGH.
